Lions Pride

Lion KeyChain

"Lions Pride is a partnership between the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League and the Safe Schools Department.

Throughout the year BC Lions players deliver a total of 22 presentations to different schools throughout the Surrey School district. These presentations allow Lions players to connect with youth on a personal level and help teach them about making positive choices and choosing alternatives to gang involvement.

As part of Lions Pride, every  April and May the BC Lions players hold a four-team flag football tournament for at-risk youth with teams from Surrey, Abbotsford, North Vancouver, and New Westminster. Each City is assigned 2 to 3 players who coach each team and run practices for the students. After the tournament students receive tickets to a BC Lions game, as well as, BC Lions apparel. Surrey's at-risk youth have won the previous two tournaments."
